More than 40 years of continental influence has transformed British cuisine, particularly in London, where residents have their pick of top-class European eateries.
A few weeks before the referendum took place, we created our own menu of London's European restaurants and sampled some of the food and opinions on offer.

Baltic Restaurant & Bar, Waterloo
Established south of the River Thames in June 2001, Baltic Restaurant and Bar is Jan Woroniecki's second restaurant and has become the premier dining destination in the area, just 5 minutes from Waterloo Station and within walking distance of the Tate Modern and South Bank.
Covering a varied range of tastes from the Baltic to the Adriatic, Baltic Restaurant and Bar specialises in seasonal Eastern European cuisine such as Biog (Polish Hunter's Stew) in the winter and Cholodnik (Chilled Beetroot, Radish and Yoghurt Soup) in the summer.
Redesigned by architect Seth Stein and retaining its original character, Baltic is situated within a late 18th century coachbuilder's building.
Step by step, he modest entrance into the Amber Bar expands out into a grand single storey structure with 40-foot wooden trussed ceilings, skylights and galleries, making Baltic a truly unique and exceptional dining experience.

Baltic Restaurant and Bar, is housed in an eighteenth century former coach builder’s works and although redesigned, the original character is beautifully retained.
With wooden trussed ceilings, skylights and clean lines, Baltic diners enjoy a truly unique experience.
Specialising in the cuisines of Eastern Europe, the menu offers an extensive a la carte selection.
A pre theatre/set menu is offered at a fixed price of 2 courses for £14.50 or for 3 courses, £17.50.
Food aside, the bar has an extensive cocktails list carefully prepared by the specialist bar team.
